Fingerprinting a 200 year-old medical mummy |

Here we are trying to recover fingerprints from a 210 year-old medical mummy at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. The mummy has been listed in the University’s archives since 1802, when Transylvania was becoming one of the most important medical schools in the United States. We are still analyzing the data, but it appears there were few available prints. We also scanned the entire body, and may do some metric analysis of the skull to determine sex and ethnicity of the mummy. |
